Flying at the Best!

Yes that’s what I said, when you fly at the Orlando International Airport you’re flying in one of the Best Airports in America!
The Orlando International Airport has been ranked #2 of the Best Airports in America! We were also ranked 1st in entertainment! For a good reason too, we do play host to the happiest place on Earth! Another good reason for being ranked so greatly is our retail stores! We have the best gift shops around; SeaWorld, Universal Studios, Kennedy Space Center, and of course a store called Disney’s EarPort.
So remember the next time you fly at the Orlando International Airport, you’re flying in the best of America!

Don’t you love those words when you see any retail store? “We’re having a Sale!” I have to admit I love a good sale. Mostly because I enjoy saving money on any of the items I buy.
We’re approaching the end of the summer and we all know what that means…Labor Day Sales! The Orlando Premium Outlets will be having a Labor Day Sale so mark your calendar for next weekend!
Beginning Friday, September 3 and ending on Labor Day Monday September 6th you can save 25%-65% off on your items at the Orlando Premium Outlets. You could also save more on some in-store promotions, my personal favorite!

Original versus the Remake!

Piranha 3D comes out in theaters today and honestly I’m excited to see it. Why? Well because I want to see how they remade the movie.
Didn’t know it was a remake? It is, the movie was originally made in 1978! While this movie is definitely a “Summer Blockbuster” I’m willing to see it for some of its qualities.
First, you have to see a remake! A comparison is needed when someone makes a remake. Which movie was better made?
Second, Piranha 3D is well…in 3D. While more movies are being presented in 3D. We need to see all that we can, mostly for the effects!!
You can catch Piranah 3D at the Plaza Cinema Cafe.

It may sound a bit weird but you can go on a safari in Florida! At Forever Florida you can enjoy a guided tour of an eco-safari. Florida EcoSafaris has four different options of safaris you’re sure to find something you’ll definitely enjoy. You can go on a horse-back safari, natural Florida safari, a zipline safari or a coach safari.
Each of our eco-safaris transport you through Forever Florida; an all too rare wild part of the state preserved just as nature intended. This special place boasts nine distinct Florida ecosystems, home to an endless array of natural flora and fauna including alligators, black bears, white-tail deer, nearly two hundred species of birds and the endangered Florida Panther.
Why not enjoy a safari…when is the next time you’ll enjoy one?

Being Barefoot!

In high school I was a runner, I ran all the time. If there was a sport that required lots of running, I was playing it. Now that I’m a bit older (I refuse to reveal my age) I don’t run as fast as I used to but I still run as often as I can.
Recently there has been a “trend” in the world of running and everyone is talking about it, at least the runners are. This trend is proving to not be a trend at all but a movement.
Vibram Five Fingers is the “movement” every runner is talking about and for good reason too. You’re running barefoot basically and while you may think that’s bad for your feet (lack of arch support, lack of cushion…etc.) it’s actually a very good thing. You’re training your foot to do what it’s supposed to do, support you.
The typical human foot is an anatomical marvel of evolution with 26 bones, 33 joints, 20 muscles, and hundreds of sensory receptors, tendons and ligaments. Like the rest of the body, to keep our feet healthy, they need to be stimulated and exercised.
Introducing Vibram Five Fingers!! They look like a glove for the foot and they are EXTREMELY comfortable. While I haven’t made my purchase yet for these shoes (every good shoe has its price) I will be this weekend (there’s enough money in the piggy bank!). I’ll be heading out to the Travel Country Outdoors store where they sell Vibram Five Fingers locally. You can also buy online, I like to try on my running shoes so I won’t be buying online.
Travel Country Outdoors is less than half an hour from Savannah at Park Central! You can either check these shoes out online or at the store!

IKEA!!!

Oh the name of that store gets me excited! I’m not even sure what it is, oh wait it’s everything! It doesn’t matter if you’re new to your apartment at Savannah at Park Central or if you’ve lived here longer. IKEA is a great store to get odds and ends.
First the store is massive, you ironically feel as if you’re in a maze (but you need to follow the arrows) and second the prices are very reasonable! Can you imagine buying some of these things at other stores?
Some of my personal favorites at IKEA are the candles, lighting, bedding and kitchen accessories. I really enjoy walking through the showrooms and seeing the decor that’s been set up. This helps me decorate my own apartment because I can visually see what I might like.
What are some of your favorite things at IKEA?

If you’ve been feeling a little blue this week, don’t worry, your Savannah at Park Central online blog community has got a great idea for you…
Cheer up and check out the sensory overload wonder of a show that is the Blue Man Group in Orlando this weekend!
Get your tickets for all the fun, entertainment, music, comedy, and groundbreaking theatrics (out of breath), that only these awesome (and I really do mean AWE-some) Blue men can bring you!
You don’t have to worry about being too far from your Savannah at Park Central home either. Sharp Aquos Theatre is less than 15 minutes away.
If you can’t make it this weekend, shows start at 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., 7 days a week. There’s always an opportunity to experience being blue…

A Day’s Work at the Beach!

Florida, when you ask a non-resident of our sunshine state what first comes to mind what do you think they will say? They’d comment on Florida’s beaches, the vacation’s spots, the theme parks, and the great view.
Personally I think I got pretty lucky, first I live in Florida, then I live at Savannah at Park Central. We get some pretty great deals being Florida residents and we get to come home to a community.
My favorite activity to do in my spare time is to take a summer drive over to some of the beaches nearby. Many tourists don’t think of beaches when it comes to Orlando, FL. But we’re only an hours drive to the water. A couple and friends and I will go out to Cocoa beach in the morning and spend the day under the sun. It’s a good time. Have you been to these beaches lately?
Cocoa Beach- driving time: about 1 hour, 5 minutes- Daytona Beach- driving time: about 1 hour, 7 minutes
- New Smyrna Beach- driving time: about 1 hour, 8 minutes
- Canaveral National Seashore- driving time: about 1 hour, 9 minutes
- Melbourne Beach- driving time: about 1 hour, 24 minutes
